“So are you in trouble?” Livalii asked. “Need me to knock some heads? Because I will.”
“I’m not in trouble.” Tiiro stressed the I, ever so slightly. “It’s just… fate. I saw myself going. So I go. You know how that is.”
“Then where are you going?” Livalii’s hand tightened around her cup.
“It’s not so much where, as with whom.”
Livalii raised her eyebrows and didn’t deign to ask the question aloud.
